I have hope in my heart for the first time in a very long time. An app that makes you feel like people out there truly care about something other than just money.

We built EMDR Tappers so moments like this could happen more often

When COVID-19 moved therapy sessions online, EMDR therapists faced a problem: their clients still needed bilateral stimulation, but pulsers, light bars, and tappers couldn’t travel through a screen. Shipping hardware cost hundreds of dollars. Bluetooth devices dropped connections. Nothing worked reliably over a video call. EMDR Tappers was created with the help of a licensed EMDR therapist to solve exactly that.

People shouldn’t need expensive equipment to access bilateral stimulation. The phones, laptops, and watches they already own should be enough.

Rebuilt from the ground up

EMDR Tappers started as a simple tool to get through the pandemic. Over time, we learned what therapists actually needed and how to make the app accessible to more people. We wanted it to be faster, more reliable, available on more platforms, and useful not just in sessions but for self-regulation too.

So we rebuilt it from scratch. New approach, new design, better technology.

Behind EMDR Tappers is a small team of engineers, designers, and therapists who came together from different parts of the world. Some of us use the app in our own therapy. Others test it with the clients they work with. When users reach out with a problem or an idea, we listen. Some of the best features started that way.

I use this with all my telehealth clients now. so much easier than trying to get them to buy equipment they’ll use once a week

App Store review

I am extremely grateful this app is free. Many including myself have a hard time accessing free therapy tools.

App Store review

The buzzers are really effective for neurodivergent people… The app makes it more accessible to people outside clinical settings.

This helped so much in between sessions. I’m still amazed by how my life changed with EMDR.

This is what we keep building for

Bilateral stimulation should be available to anyone who needs it, wherever they are. We’re working on support for more devices, more languages, and more ways to make EMDR accessible to people who haven’t been able to reach it yet.
